Managing Urban Complexity
About The Complexity School
More than half of the world population now lives in cities globally. It is expected that by 2050, more than two thirds of the world population will move to cities. Given this rapid urbanization process worldwide, cities are becoming increasingly complex, a situation that needs new ideas to look at and deal with and harnessing cities becomes one of the most important challenges in human history in the 21st Century. The Complexity School is a network of international scholars with an interest in approaching and managing cities through complexity science in order to make the world a better place to live. In particular, we look at cities as complex systems and solve various urban problems through planning and management for urban development that derives from sound scientific findings.
